After many years of taking language lessons and travelling in various countries we’ve come to know what is good and bad about language schools. We’ve gone through the experience of learning other languages so we understand what it takes to teach and to learn Spanish.
Altiplano Spanish offers personalized Spanish lessons tailored to the needs of each student. Lessons can be arranged from a minimum of 2 hours a day. You simply tell us what you want and we make it happen.

  Tarija is a great place to take Spanish lessons as the people are friendly and speak more slowly so you can practice your new skills with them.

  Other reasons for visiting Tarija for Spanish lessons include:

  Tarija is one of the safest cities in Bolivia. It has a low crime rate and you can safely walk the streets at night. Due to its small size, it is easy to get around.
  
  Its people are friendly and kind. They want to be helpful to strangers and you will be able to practice your newly acquired language skills with them.
  
  The climate is great. It has dry winters with clear blue skies and during the summer season it often only rains at night.
  
  At an altitude of 1,850 meters (6,070 ft) Tarija is a good place to acclimatize before venturing out to the higher elevations of Bolivia.

  It is in the main wine region of Bolivia and has easy access to the tropical and Altiplano regions of Bolivia, or to Argentina.

  METHODS:
  From our own experience of taking language lessons, and as teachers, we have developed the effective teaching methods used by Altiplano Spanish.
  Instead of relying solely on books and handouts students are encouraged to listen and learn to speak Spanish from the onset, in just the same way that babies learn to use language. In this fashion they learn like a native speaker has learnt.
  We believe that good pronunciation should be learnt by listening to native speakers and grammar ought to be contextualized to enhance its understanding.
  Our focus is on helping students speak the language so that they can use it in everyday conversations and continue to learn of every opportunity they have outside the classroom.
